Gas
transportation describes a process whereby a utility customer is
able to buy natural gas from a third-party supplier rather than the
natural gas utility who has held a monopoly in the customer's area.
The federal government deregulated the natural gas market several
years ago, but left the practical matters and the implementation of
an alternative system to the individual states. This has opened the
natural gas market up to competition, which in turn benefits natural
gas customers.
Some states have been involved in gas transportation for many years
while other states are just beginning to implement gas
transportation. Since URC is a national company, we are up to
date on every states' deregulation measures and we can help you
decide if your company would benefit from purchasing third-party
gas. We can also help you negotiate with a third-party gas supplier. |
